LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- For the first time since 2011, the 35th Breeders' Cup will be at Churchill Downs next fall. In its 35-year history, the championship has been held here in Louisville nine times.
Officials from the Breeders' Cup and Churchill want local business leaders to get involved this year to create a fun festival atmosphere for next November.
"Anywhere you go in this town you've got great options for food, for beverage, the Urban Bourbon Trail," says Kevin Flanery, President of Churchill Downs. "It really is an experiencial city, and Churchill Downs as well, we've invested to improve the experience around the track, whether you're here on general admission or you have a day at the mansion, we want to make sure you have a great time and that's what this city has really embraced."
The 2018 Breeders' Cup world championships will be on November 2nd and 3rd at Churchill Downs.
