Ali Center Scholar delivers eulogy at Ali memorial

Natasha Mundkur at Ali service

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Natasha Mundkur, 19, a Muhammad Ali Center Scholar and UofL student, delivered a eulogy for Louisville’s Greatest during a memorial service at the KFC Yum! Center.

She began by thanking Ali’s family and the Ali Center for the opportunity to speak and “to echo the voice” that Muhammad gave her.

Mundkur never had the chance to meet Ali, but she was inspired by his courage and conviction. She credits Ali with helping her find her confidence and voice.

The focus of her speech was to empower others to find strength in their identity and not conform to the normative ideals of society.

“When I look into this crowd I smile. I smile to recognize that he is not really gone. He lives in you, and he lives in me, and he lives in every person that he has touched in every corner of this world,” said Mundkur.
