BULLITT CO., Ky. (WHAS11) – Officials in Bullitt County are still working a large fire that has been ablaze since Sunday morning.
The fire has been burning mostly underground in a deep ravine behind a home in the 3000 block of Mt. Elmira Road.
The hole is 250 feet deep and 75-yards wide.
Officials have been on the scene of the fire since 8 a.m. on Sunday morning and say that it is a “waiting game” and that the fire could be burning for up to a week.
Firefighters said that there is not enough water in the county to put the flames out and that it will have to burn itself out.
