LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – More than 200 youth volunteers from around the country are in Oldham County this week to spruce up the homes of the needy.
The Buckner Youth Workcamp has pulled 230 volunteers from 15 churches in 11 states.
They’re staying at Oldham County High School during the night and during the day they’ll be painting, building wheelchair ramps and porches and also making minor repairs to homes of the elderly as well as the less fortunate.
In addition to the money the volunteers pay to be part of the Workcamp, donations from churches, community members and local businesses are needed to make this camp a reality.
