(WHAS11) -- An Ohio River Metal Services employee was involved in a fatal incident.

The victim has been identified as Anthony Maupin, 42. He was hit in the head with a sheet of fiberglass weighing about 700 pounds. The fiberglass sheet was being put on a barge when the wind shifted the fiberglass causing it to sway.  It then hit the victim in the head giving him severe head injuries.

Maupin was airlifted to University Hospital where he died at 7:55pm on Thursday.

An autopsy determined the cause of death was blunt force injuries.

Evergreen Funeral Home will handle the arrangements. Jeffersonville police are handling this investigation.
