CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Firefighters were called to a fire at an assisted living facility in Clarksville Monday night.

A small fire broke out around 8 p.m. at the Westminster Apartments in the 2200 block of Greentree North.

Residents evacuated the building, but officials say the fire was contained in one area.

“From the fire it appears, I haven't really been in to check it out, but we have two to three units damaged by the fire and we do have quite a few units that have been affected by water damage,” Chief Tom Upton said.

Everyone was able to make it out safely.

Investigators say the fire may have started in the attic, but the exact cause is still under investigation.
