Workers blast rock, dirt near U.S. 42 and Gene Snyder for new Bridge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- More work got underway on Thursday, June 27, to make room for the new East End Bridge over the Ohio River.

Crews blasted away rock near the intersection of U.S. 42 and the Gene Snyder Freeway.

This small blast loosened about 600 cubic yards of rock and dirt-- where eventually there will a 1,700 foot tunnel under U.S. 42 and the Drumanard Estate.
