LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- An innocent woman was killed on her way to a meeting at a Louisville church. The victim’s daughter is pleading with the public for information about who pulled the trigger. She says no detail is too small and she is asking anyone to come forward with information about the suspects.
Ashley Tuggle's mother, 44-year-old Cynthia Johnson, died Monday night. Tuggle says Johnson went to a convenience store at 36th and Broadway with a group of friends before heading to a meeting at a church. Tuggle says two young men followed the women and tried to rob them.
“They punched the girl in the mouth and my mother, being who she is, you know, she stood up and said ‘you don’t have to hit her. Why?’ and they just shot my mother and ran,” said Tuggle. “I just know she was a hero and a lot of people have thoughts of that and I’m just giving a plea out to the people that done this I know you know it was wrong. Bring my mother’s death to justice I’m left alone out here and the only thing I live for is for my mother.”
If you have any information about the shooter you are urged to call Louisville Metro Police at 574-LMPD
