LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – One of St. Matthews popular dining spots returned to the area after being gone for almost 12 years.
White Castle opened their doors near Trinity High School on Sunday serving up a new and improved look.
The restaurant now includes flat screen televisions, Wi-Fi and a kitchen island where customers can watch their food being prepared.
"It's just part of St. Matthews. It's been here forever, you know, it's my whole White Castle. When they closed my White Castle, for 12 years I’ve had to go to Buechel down the Eastern Parkway now I don't have to go so far so it works out great," he said.
The White Castle replaces the KFC restaurant that was demolished.
A new restaurant, possibly a Panera Bread, is also planned just east of the White Castle.
