LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – On Thursday one of the main developers preserving Louisville's Whiskey Row talked about the importance of saving the city's history while revitalizing downtown.

“This block is important not only to our architectural history but to our commercial history. It's a row of cast iron facades that were intricately involved in the railroad, our relationship with the wharf, our history with whiskey distilling in Louisville-- so it's a very important building,” Valle Jones, a developer preserving Whiskey Row, said.

Jones talked to the rotary club Thursday afternoon.

She's one of the investors in the Whiskey Row lofts-- which include restaurants, apartments and event spaces.

Right now her team is working on developing five more historic buildings on Main Street. One of her projects also created The Troll Pub in the basement of her building, right next to the Yum Center.
