(WHAS11) -- Western Kentucky University is looking at a hike in tuition.
WKU president Gary Ransdell said the school will have to cut staff unless state officials approve a five percent increase.
He said he expects a battle to get more than a four percent hike, but if that's the most increase it gets, then people will lose their jobs.
Ransdell said the school is growing quickly and state money is not keeping up.
