LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – As the quick closing of the iconic Lynn’s Paradise Café rattled Highlands residents Saturday, the restaurant made haste in getting rid of its inventory.

A status was posted on the café’s Facebook page the same day stating their inventory would be distributed to the needy in the community Sunday.

One organization benefitting from the donation is Wayside Christian Mission.

Dozens of boxes and containers full of milk, eggs, meat, bread and other perishables were put onto a truck at Lynn’s and brought to Wayside.

“We are very grateful that Lynn’s Paradise Café has offered this to the mission,” Nina Mosely, CEO of Wayside Christian Mission said. “It’s hard to feed so many people daily on donations and so forth, every little bit helps and this is a great donation of really quality items so we’re very, very grateful to her.”

Lynn Winter, owner of the café, sent out a statement late Friday night saying the restaurant has served its last meal.

There’s no official reason behind the closure and information about unused gift cards has not been released.
