LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A new music festival debuted in Louisville this weekend celebrating any kind of music played on vinyl.
It’s appropriately named VinylFest.
The event was held at the Crowne Plaza hotel and it connects music enthusiasts with rare albums, workshops that show how vinyl records are made and the talented people who actually play a role in making that music.
“Vinyl is making a comeback as a media for music. It’s never quite gone away but it’s finding a new resurgence as people find out about how it sounds as compared to other forms of music,” Conventional Wisdom’s CEO David Hodge said.
Organizers say for the first year, the turnout has been better than expected.
They hope to make this an annual event in Louisville.
