LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—Many associated with the University of Louisville spent Good Friday fighting for a good cause.
Students, faculty, staff and others from the community joined together to participate in the American Cancer Society’s fundraiser, Relay for Life.
The event began at 6 p.m. on Friday night and runs through 6 a.m. on Saturday, in the Student Activities Center on campus.
The event features other attractions than walking, including a Survivor Lap, luminaria ceremonies, a performance from a hypnotist, booths from student organizations, dance parties and other surprises.
Cancer survivors and those who have died from the disease were remembered through the night with special dedication ceremonies.
All proceeds from the event go to the ACS’s advocacy and research efforts to eliminate cancer.
