LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)- Are you or do you know someone who is a young, aspiring photographer? The University of Louisville has teamed up with Murphy’s Camera to launch a summer camp where photographers from 11-years-old to 15-years-old can gain professional insight into the art. The Digital Photography Summer Camp will include guest speakers daily and the camp will focus on key photography skills, including nature, portraiture, photojournalism and close-up photography.
The week-long summer camp offers young photographers professional tips to help them understand how to take the most impactful and compelling images possible. Campers will receive personal assessments and evaluations to help the students improve their talents and to show them how to successfully tell a story through their photographs. Local professionals in the photography field will also work with camp instructors to ensure campers receive the best instruction. The Digital Photography Summer Camp will wrap with an art show where students can display their photography for their parents and fans.
The camp will provide students with memory discs and other equipment. Students are asked to bring their own digital cameras, preferably cameras with shutter speed and aperture controls. However, any digital camera will work.
To ensure individual attention, the camp is restricted to 30 campers.
