(WHAS11) -- A traffic stop in Frankfort, Ky has net an estimated $67,000 in illegal drugs.
According to a news release from the Frankfort Police Department, after an officer pulled over a Chevy Caprice for a traffic violation, a Toyota Corolla drove past that traffic stop several times. The driver of that Corolla, identified as 24-year-old Brittany Hawkins, eventually stopped to inquire about the traffic stop. Police say the person they had initially pulled over was her boyfriend, 33-year-old Christopher Mays.
A search of both cars, residence and another unspecified location by police uncovered many pills, 7.6 pound of marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia totaling an estimated $67,000, police say.
Mays is now charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and disorderly Conduct. Hawkins is also facing similar charges.
