ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky.—  Two men were injured in a collision on Tuesday near Elizabethtown.

Tuesday at 7:56 p.m. Kentucky State Police responded to the incident near the 5000 block of Leitchfield Road.

Police said a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by Larry Deweese, 70 of  Cecilia, Ky., attempted to turn on to Leitchfield Road from the Dollar General Store when he entered the path of the other vehicle, a 1997 Nissan pickup driven by Aaron Dudgeon, 37.

The Nissan struck the Mercury in the front driver’s side, leaving the Mercury stopped in a westward direction in the westbound lane.

The Nissan crossed both eastbound lanes before stopping off the roadway.
Deweese was flown to University of Louisville Hospital with life threatening injuries. Dudgeon was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
