LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- This week the public is invited by the Metro Council to give the first input on the plan to expand Waterfront Park to the west.

Looking at the plan closer, WHAS11 found the new idea to add a Ferris wheel at 12th and Rowan; which was a last minute thought.

But when you look at the history of the land and where it would sit, you realize how significant it would be, for the public to use this property.

The Metro Council does want more ideas.

The first public meeting is this Thursday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m. at the city hall. The Lexington consultant Andy Knight who came up with the Ferris wheel will be there. Your input is welcome and if you can't make it send Cheri Bryant Hamilton an email with your ideas for Waterfront Park west.
