LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Terry Zwicker, the father of a Louisville boy brutally beaten to death behind Liberty High School, is just back in town after appearing on the Dr. Phil Show.
Terry Zwicker describes his experience on the talk show as "fast." He says the anticipation of going on stage was agony but when he came face to face with the teen, once accused of killing his son, he says it just felt so quick.
“This is what I am going to tell you I’m sure in about two weeks from now you guys are gonna contact and you are gonna want to talk to me,” Terry Zwicker said.
Zwicker says he is in an agreement with the show to not tell what happened when he was with Young or if Young accepted any help from Dr. Phil.
Young was acquitted in 2013 in the murder of Zwicker's 14-year-old son, Trey. Josh Young and Trey were stepbrothers.
Trey was beaten to the death and Young's father pleaded guilty to killing him. Zwicker has said all along he believed Young was there with his father during the murder. But said we will have to wait to see the show to see if he feels the same way.
“I didn't know anything about the Dr. Phil Show until I actually seen Joshua Young on news channels talking about he was going to break the silence; so it was a shock to me that Dr. Phil was even interested in it at that time,” Terry Zwicker said.
Zwicker says he accomplished his mission on the show.
