LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A vigil was held for a teenager attacked in Louisville to raise awareness about hate crimes.

The teenager is a member of Highlands Baptist Church and many members came out to show their support for her. She was attacked Tuesday on Taylor Boulevard near Wyandotte Park.

The girl was beaten by three people who were allegedly yelling anti-gay slurs at her.

She attended the vigil but did not want to talk at the time.
