CATLETTSBURG, Ky. (AP) -- An eastern Kentucky man has pleaded not guilty to killing a 2-month-old girl.
The Independent reported that 18-year-old Brett R. Thompson of Stanton entered the plea Friday in Boyd County. He is charged with murder in the May 4 death of Alivia Noel Worstell of Westwood.
An autopsy found the child died of multiple head and brain injuries cause by blunt-force trauma. Police say Thompson struck the baby.
The newspaper reports Thompson was the boyfriend of the child's mother.
