(WHAS11) -- It's back to the negotiating table for union workers at UPS.
That after workers at Worldport voted down the initial proposed contract. "We rejected the Central Region supplement 4381 to 576," Jay Dennis, with the Teamsters Local 89, said.
Dennis says the negotiations are not over and the process will continue.
WHAS11 is told workers want better wages, healthcare and other benefits. The current contract expires at the end of July.
If an agreement is not reached there may be talk of a possible strike as a last resort.
Dennis said the national did get passed, but it will not go into affect until all other supplemental contacts, including the Louisville Air Supplement and Central among others, are renegotiated and approved by another vote.
