(WHAS11)—The Unites States Supreme Court will hear an appeal on a Kentucky death penalty case before years end.

The Justices set a hearing date of Dec. 11 for the case of 38-year-old Robert Woodall.

The Court will decide if there was an error in the jury instructions, meaning Woodall would get a chance to spare his life.

Woodall pleded guilty to the 1998 abduction and killing of 16-year-old Sarah Hansen from a convenience store in Greenville.
