LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A strong line of storms left thousands without power for hours on Sunday.

The areas affected most by the outages were the Highlands, Germantown, and Crescent Hill.

At one point more than 3,000 LG&E customers were without power.

The Eads family spent Sunday evening outside playing cards because their home was completely dark.

"You don't need batteries or electricity or anything else," Kathy Eads said.

Crews also spent Sunday evening cleaning up down trees. A large tree on Bradley Avenue blocked the street for hours.

There were no reported injuries for the severe weather.
