(WHAS11) - Jury selection for the trial of Sheila Granger began Wednesday morning in a Clark County Courtroom. By 3:30 Wednesday afternoon, attorneys presented their opening arguments for and against Granger.
People who knew Sheila Granger told WHAS11's Adrianna Hopkins that she was a wolf in sheep's clothing; a suburban mother of two teenage girls and active in church. Her husband was a coach of a youth football league.
Granger might be the last person you would think would be on trial accused of having sex, performing oral sex and forcing two 12-year-old boys to touch her from August 2007 through August 2008.
But one person, who wants to remain anonymous, knows Granger and says neither the accusations nor the fact that the incidents allegedly happened at Granger's house is a surprise.
"It was a hangout! It wasn't like a home, a mother, raising two young girls. It wasn't a family setting. It was a hangout. It was riff-raff all the time going in and out of that house over there."
This person says they saw 12, 13 and14-year-old boys coming and going all hours of the day and night from Granger's house.
According to the graphic arrest complaint, Granger knew both of the victims through her daughters and church. The complaint also says Granger thought she may have become pregnant by one of the boys.
"The games she hung out at, the dances she went to with the young boys and stuff, the gifts she was buying and what she was doing... that's not a good mother role to be doing stuff like that."
Without speaking directly to this case, Lucy Lee, the Director of the Exploited Children's Help Organization says parents should know child predators come in all descriptions.
"More importantly than that we want to remind the public that most child abuse is perpetrated by someone that we would never begin to suspect in a million years," said Lucy Lee, Director of ECHO.
