MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Bullitt County teen remains in jail for allegedly threatening to bring a gun to a middle school and harm one of the students. However, friends of Nick Bain gathered Friday night to show their support of the 18-year-old, saying the entire story was made up.
Investigators said they have evidence Bain did in fact threaten Old Mill Elementary School and one of its students leading to his arrest Saturday.
However, in the week since the 18-year-old's arrest, his friends say they've collected evidence in the form of text messages that the student who tipped off police was angry after a recent fight with Bain and made it all up.
Bain is due back in court Monday facing charges of second degree terroristic threatening. It’s unclear whether the information his supporters say they’ve provided to police will have any bearing on the case.
