(WHAS11) -- The summer's drought is leading to a stinky comeback in the insect world.
Scientists say stinkbugs have been reported in at least 38 states, which is five more than last year and that includes right here in Louisville.
The Mid-Atlantic is seeing the worst infestation. The insects natural predators have not been able to keep up with the growing stink bug population, and they like to enter home as temperatures drop in the fall.
Getting rid of them isn't easy. The bugs give off a pungent smell when they're frightened of crushed.
