(WHAS11) A non-profit group, funded largely by taxpayer money, has been found to have used taxpayer money on sports tickets, alcohol and even strippers.
State auditor Crit Luallen found officials from the Kentucky Association of Counties indulged in a three-year spending spree, blowing cash on their own entertainment.
Luallen found more than $3 million in excessiveor questionable spending.
Luallen said board members, management and top-level officials spent organization funds on lavish dinners, Christmas parties and even personal escorts.
One of the board members is the Spencer County Judge Executive, David Jenkins, who came under fire last month for using an association credit card at strip clubs and an escort service.
Jenkins resigned from the board position after the accusations.
