LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Rising parking rates may leave you digging between the seats of your car.
The parking authority in Louisville is now increasing its rates at parking meters and some downtown garages beginning July 1.
All parking meters will increase by a quarter making the rate a $1.50.
Hourly rates at the Market Street garage and the First and Main garage will go up by a $1 and the monthly rates at all public garages will go up by $5.
In addition to the rising rates, the parking authority will also be gradually enforcing Saturday rates. So after a month of warnings, those who don't feed the meter on a Saturday will get a citation.
