Soldiers from 3rd Sustainment command return to Ft. Knox

FORT KNOX, Ky. (WHAS11) – 200 soldiers who have spent the past 9 months in Afghanistan were welcomed home to Fort Knox Saturday.

The soldiers were with the 3rd Sustainment command.

They were welcomed home with open arms today greeted by their family and friends at the Natcher Physical Fitness Center in Fort Knox.

The 3rd Sustainment Command is a logistics unit that provides a command headquarters for certain areas overseas.

These soldiers have been running operations at Kandahar Airfield, an area that oversees more than 4,000 service members and civilians.
