FRANKFORT, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The man who pleaded guilty in the death of a University of Kentucky football player will be back in court Thursday, and this time, he is fighting the civil judgment against him. Shane Ragland pleaded guilty in 2007 to manslaughter in the 1994 shooting of Oldham County native Trent Digiuro in a sniper-style attack during a party on the UK campus.
In 2008, Digiuro's family won a $63.3 million civil judgment. Ragland appealed and oral arguments in that appeal will start Thursday afternoon in Frankfort.
