LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating a bizarre case involving a sex offender and a 16-year-old girl who was found using meth and in a home full of pornography.

Police arrested a convicted sex offender after discovering him with a teen who was reported missing the day before.

Police reports indicate that he gave the girl methamphetamine.

The victim's mother said it went much further than that.

“There was porn all over the basement and there were toys, sex toys and stuff like that,” the mother, who asked not to be identified, told us.

Police say they found a 16-year-old girl in a closet in a south Louisville home.

Police say she was high on meth, allegedly provided to her by 46-year-old Gary Iburg, a convicted sex offender.

Iburg is a lifetime registrant after being convicted of a sex crime in Arkansas involving a 13-year-old victim.

The girls' mother says Iburg met the girl through his fiancée Mahala Meyer, the manager at Gourmet Burger in the Jefferson Mall food court, where the victim used to work.

Meyer told us the alleged victim and her boyfriend made up the whole story.

“You cannot tell me that you're going to try to send him to prison over some kids that's not worth the powder to blow their brains out,” Meyer said.

Meyer was also charged with possession of methamphetamine after the girl, who had been reported missing, was found in a closet in her home.

“The only meth they found was in my wallet. They didn't even know it was there,” she said.

The victim has been in Kosair Children's Hospital since she was found by police.

Her mother says she claims both Meyer and Iburg tried to perform sex acts on her after giving her drugs.

“My daughter did not want to do it and he said, ‘Oh, it's ok. Go ahead.’ And she was like ‘no,’” the mother said.

Meyer says police searched the house for hours, confiscating pornography and other items.

“That they would confiscate my sex toys and try to say they would be used on anyone but myself is ridiculous,” Meyer said. “Yes there's pornos, but that's for us.”

Court records indicate that the sex crimes unit is also investigating this case and other charges are possible.

On Monday night, Iburg is being held under a $25,000 bond.
