Sevierville fire investigation taken over by State Fire Marshal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The investigation into a fatal cabin fire in Tennessee that killed two people from Indiana has been taken over by that State Fire Marshal's Office.

Twenty-two people from Kentucky and Indiana, including some from Louisville, were staying a cabin near Gatlinburg when the fire broke out early Sunday.

The scene is still being processed.

The two that died in the fire were a 5-year-old boy and a 56-year-old man from Indianapolis.

The man died at the hospital after suffering severe lacerations from breaking a window trying to save others.

The remains of the child have yet to be recovered.
