(WHAS11)-Secretary of State Trey Grayson will be able to oversee the U.S. Senate race which he is running for.

The Executive Branch Ethics Commission reached a decision on Friday there would not be a conflict of interest if Grayson ran. 

Grayson’s opponent in the senate race, Republican Rand Paul had questioned whether Grayson should refuse himself from the oversight of that race.
 
Paul and Grayson are among five republicans seeking the nomination to run for Sen.  Jim Bunning’s seat.
