Ali Center hosts premiere of HBO's 'Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight'

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11) -- It's the U.S. premiere of an HBO movie and it is happening right here in Louisville.

Wed., Oct. 2, is the premiere of a new HBO movie about Muhammad Ali as the "3 Days of Greatness Festival" kicks off.

The Ali Center in Downtown Louisville will be the site of the U.S. premiere of the movie "Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight." The film focuses on the internal fight among justices at the U.S. Supreme court over Ali's appeal of his 1967 draft evasion conviction.

Ali and his wife Lonnie are expected to attend.

The center will also show the film "Ali Speaks," written by and starring Eddie Goines who you may know from The Coalition.

During the festival the first Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards will also be handed out.

President Jimmy Carter will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Other honors will go to singers Christina Aguilera and Michael Bolton.
