The suspect at the center of a two hour standoff Tuesday night with police in southern Indiana faced a judge for the first time Wednesday afternoon.

27-year-old John Pyle faces three charges; a felony residential entry and two misdemeanors for invasion of privacy and criminal mischief.

Pyle was escorted out of his parent’s house surrounded by officers after a peaceful end to the standoff in the 3200 block of Magnolia Court in Floyd County.

During his arraignment Wednesday, Pyle told the judge he wanted to hurry this up because had another court date this month in California.

He also said he had no idea his actions would cause this backlash.

Sheriff Darrell Mills says Pyle forced his way into his parents home, fought with his father and then barricaded himself inside alone.

His dad called 911 and warned police Pyle had access to weapons in the house.

The sheriff also said there was some tension between the two.  The father had a restraining order against his son  and was trying to get him evicted.

Pyle entered a not guilty plea.
