(WHAS 11)--The Muldraugh community will get its first glimpse at a new safe room.

It's the largest safe room in the commonwealth and will be used to protect residents against severe storms 6000 and 80 square feet.

The building made of reinforced concrete and steel can withstand winds of up to 250 miles per hour.

The community room took 7 years of planning and construction.

You can attend October 24 ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m.
