Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Hundreds of people kicked of Repair Affair, an organization that fixes homes of those in need, on June 7.
Nearly 250 New Directions volunteers split into teams went to 15 homes to perform repairs. The homes are mainly owned by low-income elderly or disabled homeowners.
New Directions receives hundreds of applications every year, often with heartbreaking stories.
They depend on private and public donors to keep 1,600 volunteers repairing homes across Kentuckiana.
