LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Red Cross is trying to make up for lost time after brutal weather in January caused them to cancel hundreds of blood drives across the country.
The Red Cross rolled up to two local churches Sunday where people could make a life-saving donation.
The Red Cross says every pint of blood that’s given can help up to three patients in need.
“We just can’t get the blood at Home Depot, K-Mart or WalMart. We need donors,” Bill Bliven said.
Several other drives around Kentuckiana are scheduled this week including at the Clark County Donation Center in Jeffersonville and Highlands Latin School on Frankfort Avenue.
