LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The founder of U.S.A Harvest, Louisville’s Stan Curtis, has been in the hospital since Monday. It comes after he was charged by the IRS and U.S. attorney for stealing tens of thousands of dollars in donations from U.S.A harvest.
The news has shocked those who know him well and community groups that have benefited from his charities
In the last 25 years Stan Curtis has made a name for himself as a champion for the hungry. Growing his grass roots Louisville based charities, into international non-profits such as U.S.A Harvest and Blessings in a Backpack.
President Clinton even presented him with the country's most prestigious volunteer award.
