Radcliff, Ky. (WHAS) – Days of re-routed traffic has brought frustrated drivers to the city of Radcliff.

Roughly 2.5 miles are closed on Dixie Highway while crews work to clean up the detailed cars and it’s causing another dangerous problem.

According to police, there have been three major accidents over the last few days. Each accident involved four different cars.

“We’re seeing just a magnitude of more cars and incidents of fender benders over the last couple of days,” Radcliff Mayor J.J. Duvall said.

Police have been logging more than 100 hours of overtime to help keep the roads safe.

“Between the hours of 3 to 6 P.M. we are going to have officers at each of the major intersections.

Mayor Duvall said that he asked P & L to pay for the overtime wages the city will have to give to officers. He said the company agreed to cover the expenses.

According to Mayor Duvall, Dixie Highway is expected to be closed until Friday.
