(WHAS11) -- A 19-year-old Radcliff man is recovering after the car he was traveling in came under gunfire by someone in another vehicle and he was hit in the face.

Corey Stevens was in a car with four others when he was struck on Blackjack Road. Stevens then ran into the T Mart on South Dixie Boulevard. Sylvia Burke was working Friday night when Stevens ran in.

"He just ran into the store he had his hoodie on. He kept saying, 'Help me! Help me I've been shot,'" Burke said.

Burke says she has medical training and helped keep Stevens calm until police and paramedics arrived.

Police are still looking into a possible motive and have not ruled out the possibility of this being gang related.

Trooper Norman Chaffins says they do have person of interest but not arrests have been made.
