Public meeting concerning Carbide explosion set for next week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A public meeting is set for next week about the deadly Carbide explosion in Louisville in 2011.

Two workers were killed and two others hurt when a furnace exploded late in the day.

The U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board has called a public meeting for next Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Seelbach Hotel to discuss what went wrong, and safety recommendations.

Carbide workers and the general public are invited.
