LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Protesters lined the courthouse on Tuesday, April 2, in downtown Louisville. They want Josh Young released from jail until his trial which is set to begin in the summer of 2013.

Young is accused of murdering his stepbrother.

The protesters held signs that said "free Josh Young".

Armed with signs and passion - these protesters have a message.

Young, 17, is being held in jail for the 2011 murder of his stepbrother Trey Zwicker. He was found beaten to death behind Liberty High School.

Young and his father Josh Gouker are charged with the homicide.

Young's family and supporters stood outside the judicial center at 7th and Jefferson downtown picketing with signs that say free Josh Young.

WHAS11 talked to the victim’s father Tuesday and he believes that Josh Young was there when was Zwicker was killed.

He believes that Young should remain in jail.
