Prospect mayor steps down, appoints temporary successor

PROSPECT, Ky. (WHAS11) – The newly appointed mayor of Prospect, Kentucky is stepping down after three months on the job.

71-year-old Ken Corey is retiring effective Monday, July 1.

He was appointed mayor by the Prospect City Council in April.

Corey has appointed City Administrator Ann Simms to fill in as mayor until a new mayor is chosen.
