JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- The Jeffersonville Police Department is looking for a man accused of two separate sexual assaults of juveniles in the area.
Police said the man is luring his victim’s into the woods. The first incident happened on Oct. 5 near the 2000 block of Tenth St. The second incident happened in the 2400 block of Middle Rd on Halloween.
“He did approach them in a friendly manner. It was not an abduction scenario. He approached them, spoke with them and convinced them to walk with him,” Det. Todd Hollis of the Jeffersonville Police Department said.
The incidents occurred in the late afternoon, both locations are within walking distance of the high school.
“That worries me quite a bit because my youngest one walks to school in the morning and the other ones catch the bus to school. So, I mean they’re all out in the nearby area at the time,” parent Jennifer Griffin said.
Police have not said what the man did to lure his victims, but did say both victims described the same attacker and said he was well dressed in slacks and a dress shirt.
Police have alerted Clark County school officials because of the proximity of the attacks to several schools in the area. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call police or leave an anonymous tip at 812-218-TIPS.
