(WHAS11) -- Police arrested Brian Queen at South Third Street and St. Catherine on Thursday. They say he robbed the BB&T Bank on Bluegrass Pkwy in Jeffersontown before noon.
The chase started when an officer spotted Queen’s Chevy Malibu on I-64. It continued on I-264 and I-65. Sky11 was on the scene. Click here to view photos.
“We had to pull over because there were so many police cars, like 20,” said Tracy Kirby.
Police said Queen got off on St. Catherine, pulled over and took off on foot with money spilling out of the car, but he only made it a couple blocks.
“He came and woke me up and told me that he heard the police say, ‘Put your hands behind your back,’” said neighbor Joyce Kelly.
“I saw them take him over to the police car and after they got him back out they put him on the ground and gave him water and stuff,” said Paul Stocking.
It all happened near the St. James Art Show, but no one was hurt. They are still looking for a gun that they say Queen discarded. Police recovered all the money. Some of it was found nearby stuffed in a plastic bag.
Police said Queen has a prior arrest history that included theft. His new charges will include robbery and fleeing and eluding.
