LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The identify of the person killed in an accident in the 1800 block of South Park Road at the Ky. 841 overpass Sunday has been released.
According to Louisville Metro police spokesperson Carey Klain, dispatchers received a report of a car fire a little before 6 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of South Park Road.
It appears a Ford truck was traveling west on South Park Road when it lost control and left the roadway. The truck then returned to the roadway, overcorrected and crashed into a concrete support pillar.
When responders arrived, they found the truck engulfed in flames and once the fire was extinguished, a body was discovered inside the truck. On Tuesday afternoon, the body was identified by the coroner's office as David Torrence. Torrence lived in the 9800 of National Turnpike. Torrence was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
