Police find prostitution hard to crack down on with lenient laws

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The ads are all over the internet offering Derby companionship for a price.

But police say changes in the law make it tougher for officers to crack down on prostitutes selling themselves in the Derby City.

It's not a new problem for decades prostitutes and their pimps have flocked to Louisville during Derby week.

But increased ability to advertise and more lenient laws have made it a problem that's more difficult for police to address.
