LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Louisville Metro Police Traffic Unit have determined the cause of an apparent hit and run on Blue Lick Road Saturday morning.

Officials say that 25-year-old Brandon Grigsby of Irvington, Ky. was driving northbound on Blue Lick Road around 5 a.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle on the curve, crossed over in to the southbound lane striking a guardrail.

Grigsby was thrown from the vehicle and was wearing a helmet at the time.

Investigators say a 2006 Hummer traveling northbound ran over the body of the motorcyclist and striking the motorcycle after. They say the driver of the Hummer drove almost three miles to a nearby apartment complex with the motorcycle underneath later pulling it off the vehicle.

Investigators could not determine if Grigsby was dead after falling off the motorcycle or if the vehicle played some role.

Police say there is no arrest at this time and they are continuing the investigation.
